    WHAT IS WALK 4 WOMEN?
    Teams of four walk during International Women's Day week (2-8 March 2026) to bring the powerful "1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence" statistic to life and fund women's recovery programs.

    WHY IT MATTERS
    1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence, yet most never access the long-term recovery support they need to rebuild their lives. We call them "The Missing Majority", and your team walks to change that.

    HOW IT WORKS

    $10pp registration. Teams of 4. Set team fundraising goal. Walk 2-8 March – solo, together, or virtually. Your own time, pace & distance. Fundraising page & toolkit provided. All fitness levels welcome.

    Walk 4 Women - Mona Vale Community Walk

    Join your Northern Beaches community this International Women's Day for a powerful walk supporting women's recovery from domestic violence and trauma.

    1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence. Your participation directly supports Women's Resilience Centre's recovery programs across Australia. Starting at Kitchener Park and finishing at Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club, we're walking together to say YES to recovery and rebuilding lives in our community. $10 per person includes refreshments and canapes at Mona Vale SLSC.

    Event Details. Date: Saturday 8 March 2026. Start Time: 10:00 AM at Kitchener Park. Walk Duration: Approximately 1 hour. Celebration: 11:00am - 1:00pm at Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. Distance: Approximately 1.5km. Cost: $10 per person

    What's Included: Guided community walk with local supporters, Refreshments and canapes at Mona Vale SLSC (11am-1pm), Walk alongside local Youth Ambassadors from Northern Beaches high schools, Connect with community members committed to women's recovery, Support women's recovery programs across Australia

    Walk Route: Start: Kitchener Park (opposite The Resilience Circle, behind the B-Line bus stop on Pittwater Road). Route: Walk through Kitchener Park towards the tennis courts and Park & Ride car park, exit onto Golf Avenue, follow it downhill to the coastal path, then turn left to Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. Finish: Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club, Surfview Road. Accessibility: Suitable for all fitness levels. Families, strollers, and dogs on leads welcome.

    Event Timeline: 10:00am - Gather at Kitchener Park (opposite The Resilience Circle). 10:15am - Welcome, Acknowledgement of Country, and Youth Ambassador address. 10:30am - Walk begins. 11:00am - Arrive at Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. 11:00am - 1:00pm - Refreshments, canapes, and community connection.


    What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes - Water bottle - Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses) - Your community spirit!

    Your Impact: All proceeds support Women's Resilience Centre's free recovery programs for women across Australia, online trauma informed client care, mentoring, and resilience-building programs supporting helping women reset and rebuild after domestic violence and trauma.

    This March, as we celebrate women everywhere, we're bringing together creativity, connection, and purpose in one unforgettable afternoon. Set in the relaxed, vibrant atmosphere of Freshwater Brewing Co in Brookvale, this special event combines the therapeutic joy of painting with meaningful action to support women rebuilding their lives.

    Come and relax, leave any worries at the door as you discover the joy, satisfaction and therapeutic benefits of painting. You don't need to be an artist to enjoy this experience, just an open mind and a willingness to have fun. Artist Kylie Johnson from the Bayview Boathouse Art Studio will guide you step by step and sip by sip as you paint one of her meaningful artworks, while also welcoming your own creative touches and ideas. This is a popular wellbeing activity designed to help you discover your creative side and enjoy a "mind escape" relieving any stress and sinking into a "creative flow". Guaranteed to leave lasting memories in this fun relaxed environment.

Over three decades, this beloved Northern Beaches tradition has successfully raised funds for local charities and community organisations across Sydney's Northern Beaches.
