    #PaintItForward 2025

This year, the 16 Days of Global Activism Against Domestic Violence is asking for your hand to help!

Together we can turn these 16 Days of Activism into 365 days of recovery.

Domestic violence affects 1 in 4 Australian women, not just during these 16 days, but every single day.

Awareness is powerful, but awareness without action leaves women without the long-term help they desperately need.

We’re the Women’s Resilience Centre, a registered charity dedicated to supporting women and their families as they recover and rebuild after domestic violence. From the 25th of November to the 10th of December, we’re calling on you to take a stand, give a hand, and support the long-term recovery that helps women and their families reset and rebuild their lives.

Here’s what Emma told our team:*

“WRC helped me rebuild my entire life. Now I have a career I love, my children are thriving, and I’m helping other women find their way forward. Recovery changed everything.”

This is what we do. We provide trauma-informed client care and counselling, recovery and resilience building online programs, employment pathways, peer mentoring, financial planning and personalised support. Because recovery doesn’t happen in weeks, it takes sustained commitment and time.

This year, we’re launching Paint It Forward.

Take a stand to support recovery from domestic violence. Give a hand to a woman recovering from trauma and abuse.

Paint your thumb black. Paint four fingers yellow to honour the 1 in 4. Help her rebuild.

Men, we’re calling on you too. Real strength means standing up, speaking out, and yes, painting your nails to show you’re part of the solution.

Then donate - it’s easy - to fund the recovery support that changes lives.

    Your donation provides:

    • $50 - Recovery resources for 1 woman to start her journey

    • $100 - Personalised recovery assessment for 1 woman

    • $250 - Trauma-informed counselling session for 1 woman

    • $500 - One month of structured recovery support for 1 woman

    • $1,000 - 12 weeks of comprehensive recovery for 1 woman

So please give women across Australia your symbolic hand! Polish your nails. Fund cycle breaking recovery. Tell all your friends. Post a video of your painted hand and challenge others to act too. Together let’s change lives and Paint it Forward.
