Our High Impact Project your efforts will be supporting: Help 50 Women in Our Community Start Their Recovery

The Women's Resilience Centre was founded on the Northern Beaches and supports women rebuilding their lives right here in our community. 1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence and that's 1 in 4 women in our community. Most never access long-term recovery support. We call them The Missing Majority.

Your fundraising will help 50 women in our community start their recovery journeys. Every dollar funds personalised Recovery Assessment Sessions, the first step in a woman's recovery, giving her access to trauma-informed care, evidence-based recovery programs, and lived experience mentoring that rebuilds confidence, capability and independence.

Every dollar raised beyond $10,000 helps even more women take that first step. Recovery is prevention. If we do not repair, we will repeat.

We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Recovery IS Prevention

    Recovery IS Prevention Lunch

A Community Lunch for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

    Thursday 28 May 2026. 12:30pm – 2:00pm. The Mona. 2 Park Street, Mona Vale NSW 2103. $65 per person

May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Across Australia, communities come together to raise awareness of domestic and family violence, to call for justice, and to ensure women and families impacted have the support they need to move forward. Awareness starts the conversation.

    Recovery changes everything.

1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence. Most never report it. Most never access shelter. And 9 in 10 never receive the long-term recovery support they need to truly rebuild their lives. We call them The Missing Majority and they are right here in our community in Mona Vale and across the Northern Beaches. Resetting. Rebuilding. Quietly carrying on.

    Recovery is prevention.

When women are supported to rebuild their health, finances, confidence, parenting capacity and future direction, we break cycles of abuse that can span generations. That is the work of the Women’s Resilience Centre. And this May, our community is stepping up.

Join Us for an inspiring and purposeful community lunch, proudly co-hosted by the Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce and The Mona Vale Hotel.

Your ticket includes Two-course lunch and Keynote speaker, Graeme Cowan. On the day: Silent auction, Raffle, Cash bar.

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker, Graeme Cowan, a Founding Director of R U OK?, author of five books, host of The Caring CEO podcast, and one of Australia's leading voices on resilience, recovery, and the power of genuine human connection.

Graeme knows firsthand what it means to break down and rebuild. His story and the practical tools he shares are exactly what this event is about.

Our silent auction is live now and open to everyone. Bid on incredible prizes from the comfort of your home, whether you can make it on the day or not. Over $3,000 in raffle prizes will also be drawn on the day. Bid in our silent auction: https://auctions.funraise.org/989bcf23-f387-411d-aff5-fca869828cfd/8917

All proceeds fund free national recovery programs for women after domestic violence and trauma.

    2026 Voltaren City2Surf

Join Team Yellow and turn every kilometre into recovery for women rebuilding after domestic violence and trauma. On Sunday 9 August, more than 90,000 people will run, jog and walk from Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach. When you run for the Women’s Resilience Centre, you run for something bigger than the finish line. You run so women can reset and rebuild after domestic violence and trauma.

WHY YOUR RUN MATTERS: 1 in 4 Australian women are affected by domestic violence. Recovery is what strengthens confidence, rebuilds independence and restores long-term wellbeing. The Women’s Resilience Centre provides FREE national trauma-informed recovery programs supporting women after domestic violence and trauma to rebuild financial capability, strengthen career confidence, restore parenting stability, develop emotional resilience and reconnect with purpose and possibility.

We believe recovery is prevention. And you can help fund it.

OUR 2026 GOAL. $15,000 = 150 trauma-informed recovery sessions. That’s 150 women receiving structured, professional recovery support after domestic violence and trauma. Each $100 raised funds one recovery session, a supported space to process experiences, strengthen resilience and take practical steps toward rebuilding independence.

When you run, you’re not just crossing the finish line. You’re helping fund recovery. If every Team Yellow runner raises $500, we’ll fund 5 recovery sessions each and reach our $15,000 goal together.

WHY JOIN TEAM YELLOW? In 2025, Team Yellow raised over $5,000 to support women’s recovery after domestic violence and trauma. In 2026, we’re going bigger.

When you join Team Yellow, you’ll receive a WRC Team Yellow running shirt, fundraising tips and templates, social media shout-outs, encouragement throughout your training, a supportive community behind you and a post-race celebration at Bondi. You’ll be running with purpose. Every session strengthens a woman’s pathway forward after domestic violence and trauma.

READY TO RUN FOR RECOVERY? Be part of something bigger than race day. Join Team Yellow. Fund recovery. Support women rebuilding after domestic violence and trauma. Register now and run City2Surf 2026 with purpose.
