Free Recovery Programs to Help You Reset and Rebuild

The Women’s Resilience Centre offers free, evidence‑based recovery programs designed to support women to reset, rebuild, and move forward after domestic abuse and trauma.

Delivered through our secure online platform and led by qualified facilitators, our trauma‑informed programs support women nationwide. Our programs provide practical tools, connection, and structured support to help you build emotional resilience, confidence, independence, and wellbeing, at your own pace and in a safe, supported environment.

Teenage Whispering

  • This compassion based, practical course supports mothers who have experienced domestic abuse in navigating the often- challenging teenage years with confidence and connection.

    Participants will learn how trauma can affect both parent and teen behaviour, explore calm and effective communication strategies, and strengthen trust and emotional safety within the

    parent-teen relationship. Through guided reflection and supportive discussion, mothers will gain tools to respond to teenage emotions with empathy, set healthy boundaries, and foster resilience and respect at home.

Managing Money

  • Build financial confidence and control! Our FREE Managing Money program starts Thursday, 19 February!

    This 6-week online program helps you take charge of your finances with clarity, calm, and confidence in a safe, supportive environment designed specifically for women rebuilding their lives.

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga

  • Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for Inner Peace

    This course is for you if you want to:

    • Learn self-compassion and self-awareness

    • Reduce stress, anxiety and depression naturally

    • Develop patience and ability to live in the present moment

    • Improve your energy and vitality

    This trauma-sensitive program equips you with:

    • Yoga asana and Pranayama for patience and presence

    • Understanding of interoception (sense your body's sensations)

    • Mastery of breath to still the mind and reduce anxiety

    • Bilateral practices that build pride and accomplishment

    • Walking meditations for calm and reduced rumination

  • A: When you register, you'll complete an enrollment form and waiver. Our program registrar and facilitator will provide you with all necessary information including secure login details for our online platform.

    Our programs feature:

    • Interactive, trauma-sensitive content tailored to your recovery needs

    • Small group settings that foster connection and peer support

    • Qualified facilitators who create genuinely safe spaces

    • Evidence-based curriculum with proven outcomes

  • A: Our programs are designed for women who are in the recovery phase from domestic abuse, trauma, or loss. To ensure safety and effectiveness for all participants, we currently cannot accommodate:

    1. Women in acute crisis situations who need immediate safety support

    2. Women experiencing acute mental health emergencies

    3. Women with acute substance abuse issues requiring specialist intervention

    If you're in any of these situations, we can provide appropriate referrals to crisis services. Once you're stabilised, we welcome you to join our recovery programs.

  • A: All our core recovery programs are completely free of charge - there are no hidden fees or costs. Donations are gratefully accepted but never required.

    Programs are delivered through:

    • Secure online platform: Access from anywhere in Australia with internet connection

    • Live facilitated sessions: Real-time interaction with facilitators and other participants

    • Flexible scheduling: Multiple program times to accommodate different schedules

  • A: No, we are not a crisis service or shelter. Women's Resilience Centre specializes in long-term recovery support through:

    • Educational programs for personal development

    • Trauma-informed capacity building

    • One-on-one mentoring through our National Mentoring Program

    • Client Care Management for personalized recovery pathways

    For immediate crisis support or emergency accommodation, we can provide referrals to appropriate services. Our focus is on sustainable recovery once you're safe and ready to rebuild.
