Our Recovery Programs

The Women's Resilience Centre offers free, trauma-informed programs accessible to women nationwide through our secure online platform, with select programs also available in-person. Our evidence-based programs address the core needs women require to recover and rebuild their lives after domestic abuse and trauma and create lasting, measurable impact.

Each program is delivered by qualified facilitators in a safe, confidential environment where women can connect with others who understand their journey while developing practical skills for independence. Whether you're focusing on financial stability, employment readiness, emotional wellbeing, or building authentic relationships, our comprehensive approach supports every aspect of rebuilding a thriving life free from abuse.

Our programs are designed to equip you with practical tools and evidence-based techniques for your recovery journey. From mastering job interviews and financial confidence to building emotional resilience and deeper self-awareness, each program provides the skills you need to step confidently into your future.

Strength After Divorce, Separation or Loss

  • This FREE 6-week program is designed for women wanting to reset their lives after experiencing domestic violence, abuse, or trauma.

    Are you struggling with the aftermath of a relationship breakdown or significant loss?

    With Wende Jowsey, Education Consultant & Women's Life Transition Mentor, in this safe, trauma-informed space, you'll explore:

    • Why divorce/breakups impact us so deeply

    • How to process grief around "what could have been"

    • Creating space for healing in your environment and mindset

    • Practical tools for releasing attachments to those no longer in your life

    • Rebuilding your identity and confidence after loss

    • Setting boundaries and creating safety in new relationships

    Our trauma-informed approach provides a safe, supportive space to work through conflicting emotions and rebuild your foundation for the future.

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga

  • Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for Inner Peace

    This course is for you if you want to:

    • Learn self-compassion and self-awareness

    • Reduce stress, anxiety and depression naturally

    • Develop patience and ability to live in the present moment

    • Improve your energy and vitality

    This trauma-sensitive program equips you with:

    • Yoga asana and Pranayama for patience and presence

    • Understanding of interoception (sense your body's sensations)

    • Mastery of breath to still the mind and reduce anxiety

    • Self-care, self-love and appreciation practices

    • Bilateral practices that build pride and accomplishment

    • Walking meditations for calm and reduced rumination

    All programs are facilitated by qualified professionals and delivered through our secure online platform, making them accessible to women across Australia.

  • A: When you register, you'll complete an enrollment form and waiver. Our program registrar and facilitator will provide you with all necessary information including secure login details for our online platform.

    Our programs feature:

    • Interactive, trauma-sensitive content tailored to your recovery needs

    • Small group settings that foster connection and peer support

    • Qualified facilitators who create genuinely safe spaces

    • Evidence-based curriculum with proven outcomes

  • A: Our programs are designed for women who are in the recovery phase from domestic abuse, trauma, or loss. To ensure safety and effectiveness for all participants, we currently cannot accommodate:

    1. Women in acute crisis situations who need immediate safety support

    2. Women experiencing acute mental health emergencies

    3. Women with acute substance abuse issues requiring specialist intervention

    If you're in any of these situations, we can provide appropriate referrals to crisis services. Once you're stabilised, we welcome you to join our recovery programs.

  • A: All our core recovery programs are completely free of charge - there are no hidden fees or costs. Donations are gratefully accepted but never required.

    Programs are delivered through:

    • Secure online platform: Access from anywhere in Australia with internet connection

    • Live facilitated sessions: Real-time interaction with facilitators and other participants

    • Flexible scheduling: Multiple program times to accommodate different schedules

  • A: No, we are not a crisis service or shelter. Women's Resilience Centre specializes in long-term recovery support through:

    • Educational programs for personal development

    • Trauma-informed capacity building

    • One-on-one mentoring through our National Mentoring Program

    • Client Care Management for personalized recovery pathways

    For immediate crisis support or emergency accommodation, we can provide referrals to appropriate services. Our focus is on sustainable recovery once you're safe and ready to rebuild.
