Our Commitment to You: Client Rights & Responsibilities
Our Approach to Your Care
At the Women's Resilience Centre, we recognise the widespread impact of trauma and understand paths to recovery. We believe in your inherent strength and capacity to heal, and our approach is built on collaboration, choice and empowerment.
Every interaction is designed to promote your safety, trust and hope while honouring your cultural background and personal journey. The rights and responsibilities outlined here form the foundation of our partnership, ensuring we work together to create the most supportive and effective recovery experience possible.

As a client of the Women's Resilience Centre, you have the right to:
Feel physically, emotionally, psychologically and culturally safe while engaging with our services.
Be treated with dignity, respect, compassion and understanding.
Access trauma-informed and culturally safe support.
Participate in decisions about your recovery journey and have your voice heard.

Your Responsibilities as Our Client
To help create a safe, respectful and supportive environment, we ask that you:
Treat staff, volunteers, mentors and other participants with respect, kindness and consideration.
Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of other women participating in our services.
Participate honestly and actively in your recovery journey to the best of your ability.
Communicate changes to your circumstances or support needs where possible.
Provide accurate information so we can offer the most appropriate support.
Take an active role in your recovery planning and healing process.
Respect service boundaries, program guidelines and agreed expectations.
Participate in programs and services when you are able to engage safely and meaningfully. This means you are not in immediate crisis, are not experiencing acute mental health concerns, and are able to participate safely in a group learning environment.
Let us know if your needs change or if you require additional support so we can discuss appropriate options with you.
Support a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone engaging with our services.
Understanding Our Service Boundaries
The Women's Resilience Centre provides recovery-focused support for women who have moved beyond crisis, are stable and are working towards healing and rebuilding their lives.
While receiving support from the Women's Resilience Centre, you are unable to work with us as a volunteer roles, ensuring your focus remains on your own recovery journey.
If your circumstances change and your situation becomes unstable, you return to a crisis or unsafe situation, or you require a higher level of support, we may need to pause our services while helping connect you with more appropriate crisis or specialist services.
Feedback & Complaints
Your feedback matters to us and helps us continuously improve our programs and services.
We welcome compliments, suggestions, concerns and complaints, and are committed to ensuring all feedback is handled fairly, respectfully, confidentially and transparently.
We believe everyone using our services has the right to provide feedback and have concerns addressed in ways that promote access, equity, accountability and continuous improvement.
If you would like to provide feedback or raise a concern, please contact us:
